No. Under the Strata Titles Act, your apartment complex should be fully and adequately insured.

Yes, you need your own contents insurance policy. The Strata Corporation’s policy is for the joint owners of the building you live in, and only covers items that are commonly owned between them, such as the building, guard house and swimming pool.
